Art presents humanity new ways of seeing and communicating - an ever evolving tradition I consider myself privileged to be a part of. I love the challenge of creating my view of the world from mind to hand to canvas and paper.
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a major in painting from Boston University, Boston, Mass. I grew up in Easton, Pa where my father was a professor at Lafayette College which gave me access to many cultural programs and exhibits the college afforded plus an easy distance to the galleries and museums in New York City and Philadelphia. These advantages, plus the fact that becoming an artist was my goal from a very young age, propelled me to achieve my current status as a professional full-time artist.
In the last few years, my river scenes in oil and acrylic and commissioned portraits have been my primary focus. I have used various mediums including soft pastel, oil pastel, oil and acrylic paints. My subjects include landscapes, portraits and the figure, French urban and country scenes. I have exhibited my work at many solo shows at the Hahn Gallery, Philadelphia, Pa, and in group shows at the Nan Miller Gallery, Rochester,NY . After many years of my association the Hahn Gallery is now closed.
